Yep. It is. But that's alright, because I like 99.99% of the ones I see and/or fill out. Yes, that's right, I don't fill out EVERY meme I come across, but almost.
My real life friend Heather, writer of Pixelscribbles, tagged me for this one. So let's get the details out of the way, and get started, then, yes? Sounds good to me.
Rules/Regulations pertaining to "7 Random Things" meme:
1. Link to the person's blog who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself.
4. Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by posting a comment on their blog.
1. I'm totally amused by today's kids with "Hot Topic" wardrobes, because Hot Topic wasn't around when I started dressing the whole goth thing (I've still got the music and tastes and all, but I wear more "grown up" clothes with a bit of edge to them because I'm not 17, anymore) and our fishnets had holes because we wore them out, or because we put holes in them to wear them as sleeves, not because they were made and sold that way. I laugh at clothes SOLD with safety pins already in them! We put our safety pins where we wanted them --and where they needed to hold stuff together-- and our Docs had duct tape on them because the soles had holes in them, and no one had money to have them replaced. Wow, good times. And yes, I do realize that I just pulled a subculture version of "When I was your age, we walked twenty miles to school, uphill, in the snow, both ways, all year 'round."
2. Sometimes in the Winter, I have urges to dye my hair pink. Or blue. Or green. I never dyed my hair green when I was younger, and I wish I had.
3. I like to eat Campbell's Vegetable Soup cold, straight from the can. If you heat it up, YOU can have it, because I won't want it. Other than that oddity, I'm not extremely picky about food, but I am PARTICULAR. I won't eat crappy stuff, so we don't go to just any restaurant or fast food place when we're dining out. The Mother's cooking is my ultimate favorite, because it's been with me since before I can remember; besides, it's the ultimate in "Southern Cooking" and hella good! Paula Deen AIN'T GOT NUTHIN' on my Mama! The Marilyn's cooking is another favorite. It's like comfort food with an English accent. I've become quite the fan of her Yorkshire puddings.
4. I'm like an iceberg in that I keep 90% of what I'm really feeling on the inside. Sometimes I love it. Sometimes I hate it. I have no idea how to be any different when it comes to this.
5. I'm seriously thinking about going back to school in a few years, to get my Master's in Psychology. I wonder if I would continue on for my Doctorate? These are all interesting thoughts for someone who wanted to get her B.A., and get the hell outta school ASAP.
6. I have the most vivid imagination, and in my imagination the world is a safe place where no one is hurting or unhappy, there's no destruction or violence, and everything is brightly perfect and the sun shines all the time. This obviously clashes with reality.
7. I try to be the best person I can be, and I believe in, and live by, my morals and personal integrity. Mind you, it's not the easiest thing all the time, but I seriously think that people have responsibilities to themselves to take care of themselves, and be the best they can be. I can thank The Mother for giving me that, because it's taken me far, and will continue to throughout the rest of my life.
Alrighty, now it comes to the point where I have to tag people, yes? So here goes:
I'm tagging Mari and Kelly, friends of mine for forever and a day; how could I say more? If they've put up with me for THAT long, they're stuck with me! The Goddess over at Caterwauling, a fellow Gemini and writer of a most excellent blog with a unique blend of wit and observation, combined with some general bitching and introspection; always a tasty read, and I've been reading this one for years, now. I THINK the Goddess may have been tagged before for the "7 Random Things" as have I, but I figured that since this is a new year, hopefully she'd be pretty receptive to giving it an updated shot. Dee, over at Don't Be Shy is my next tag. She's commented over here in the past, and I very much enjoy her blog when I pop over and peek; she focuses on shyness, and her most recent post, actually, really hit home with me. Now I'm tagging Madame Ex over at What's Wrong Around Us? another blog I've been reading here and there, off and on for a while now. I'm really looking forward to her hopefully posting some random things, as they could be ANYTHING from this diverse diva of the written word!
I vaguely remember doing this meme, although I also vaguely remember
getting a shower at some point in the last two weeks too, if that tells you
anything about my brain overload. :) I'll try to come up with something
between making people do their jobs and trying not to choke my mother for
interrupting me from doing MY job because a cat has shat somewhere
inappropriate.
